Our single vineyards first plantings of Shiraz and Petit Verdot were before the turn of the century in 1997.
In the words of St Exupery “We don’t inherit the land from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” We are strong believers of letting nature take its course resulting in minimal intervention, rather than concentrating on maximum yields, our focus is on providing a premium quality wine.
From the start of their life at bud burst, we at Ranahan’s go on a journey, gently and precisely hand pruning and harvesting every grape, then guiding the fermentation process with hand plunging of the skins every four hours, resulting in only the most authentic, 100% handmade wine.
Our still table wines spend a minimum of twelve months maturing in oak, and our sparkling varieties are crafted using Méthode Traditonalé.
